Our History

Dr. Barry Chehrazi established private practice in the Greater Sacramento area in 1995 after twelve years of academic practice at University of California, Davis where he continues as a Clinical Professor in Neurological Surgery to this date.

In 2001, Dr. Kavian Shahi joined Spine & Neurosurgery Associates (SNA) after completing a MD/Phd program at University of Southern California, Los Angeles in 1995 and training in Neurological Surgery in Utah.

Dr. Franklin Wagner joined SNA as an Independent Consultant in 2004. Dr. Wagner had served as Chairman of the Department of Neurosurgery at University of California, Davis and as Chief of the Spinal Section at University of Chicago until 2004.

In 2010, Dr. Hamid Aliabadi joined Spine & Neurosurgery Associates (SNA) after completing his residency at Duke University in North Carolina.

SNA provides general and specialized neurosurgical care to our community. Our providers practice at Mercy and Sutter hospitals in treatment of intracranial and spinal pathology as well as treatment of peripheral nerve and pain problems.
